Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU — Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Job Summary The ICU Registered Nurse position located in Council Bluffs, Iowa involves providing critical care to patients with complex medical conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction. The role requires high‑level ICU expertise in a fast‑paced environment with a diverse caseload. Schedule & Shift Details Shift: Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 12 hours per shift every third weekend. Hours: 36 hours per week. Start Date: 08/03/2026 Duration: 13 weeks. Employment Type: Travel. Required Qualifications Active Iowa Registered Nursing license. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. Minimum 2 years ICU experience preferred. Proficiency in managing drips such as vasopressors, sedation medications (levo, neo, cardene, precedex, propofol). Experience with ventilators, BiPAPs, and high flow devices. Must pass orientation exam with at least a 90% score. Artificial nails prohibited; 50‑mile radius rule; no recent employment at associated facilities; RTO requests made upfront. Preferred Qualifications Previous travel experience. Float & Additional Responsibilities Float to lower levels of care including progressive care unit (PCU) and medical‑surgical units; training provided. Charting system: EPIC.
