About the Position

The nurse will be expected to float between units as needed. On-call may be required if shifts are canceled. Weekends are required every other week. Nurses will typically work either primarily night or primarily day shifts with flexibility. Expected patient ratios may be 1:1 or 1:3 depending on circumstances. The role includes caring for high-risk obstetric patients and the ability to assist with various procedures in the labor and delivery setting. The work environment involves a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team dedicated to mother and baby care. Candidates must be willing to float between units based on patient care needs. Equipment used may include fetal monitoring systems. Nurses must have the skills to administer blood products, manage high-risk deliveries, and perform assessments related to maternal and fetal health. Additional responsibilities include postpartum care and collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and their families during a crucial time. Nurses are expected to demonstrate professionalism and adaptability to meet the needs of the unit.
