About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active New York Single State RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS required Must-Have: EPIC charting experience required Description: Position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room, specializing in adult care. The shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM for a total of 13 weeks. EPIC charting experience is mandatory. Must be available to work every other holiday if needed. Every other weekend is required. The nurse will provide care for adults and geriatrics with various emergency diagnoses. Patient ratios are 1:5. Floating within the skillset may be required. Special equipment includes Bair hugger and rapid infuser. Emergency care will encompass both adult and pediatric patients, including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma. The role requires competently managing IV therapy, including blood product administration and vasopressors. Skills in cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, are necessary. Emergency care experience should include knowledge of CVA (stroke) and neuro-trauma management. Qualified applicants should have a solid background in Triage and isolation precautions. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in advanced procedures, including central line care and management of ventilated patients. Ability to handle acute psychosis and manage violent behavior is essential. This position calls for strong communication and interpersonal skills in a high-paced environment.
