- Call-Off Policy: Client may call off or cancel up to 12 hours per 13 week assignment.
- Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation. Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.

1. The Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. Acts as a patient advocate. Provides support, information and direct care. Utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. Educates patients and families on significant self care issues. LPN Works under the supervision of an RN to provide direct patient care. Participates, with the RN, in planning care for a broad spectrum of patients. The inventory, distribution/inventory of medications.
a. Essential Nursing Skills:
i. Head-to-toe and focused nursing assessments
ii. Vital signs and recognition of changes in condition
iii. Medication administration and medication reconciliation
iv. IV therapy and management, when applicable
v. Wound assessment and wound care
vi. Pressure injury prevention and treatment
vii. Infection prevention and control
viii. Blood glucose monitoring and diabetic management
ix. Pain assessment and management
x. Oxygen therapy and respiratory assessment
xi. Catheter care and management
xii. Enteral feeding tube care
xiii. Bowel and bladder management
xiv. Fall prevention and injury prevention
xv. Skin assessment and prevention of skin breakdown
xvi. Emergency response and basic life support
xvii. Proper documentation and electronic medical record use
xviii. Delegating appropriately, following up on delegated tasks
xix. Supervising CNAs and other assigned staff
2. EMR system is Point click care. We utilize RX Now pyxis for new medication orders or medication not available in the carts.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. 1 year experience required
4. BLS, Active MD state License
5. 12-hour 6:45am-7:15pm shifts rotating weekends required. Will be assigned holiday pattern upon placement into facility.

6. Will remain in Nursing Home and Skilled Nursing units. We have 4 halls, will rotate halls.
7. Bed size/number of rooms per hall- 19
8. Ratios- 1:19 on days, typically on 1:19 on nights- may go down to 1:38 11p-7a depending on staffing
9. Dress code: Navy Blue or Ciel Blue Scrubs
10. Unit/Department-Specific Training and Orientation Program:
a. New employees complete onboarding at PRMC in Salisbury. Following onboarding, employees report to Alice B. Tawes Nursing and Rehabilitation in Crisfield for facility-specific orientation.
b. On the first day, employees complete required online and classroom training at the facility, typically through the end of the shift, until approximately 7:00 p.m. If the computer-based training is completed before the end of the scheduled shift, the employee will report to the nursing unit to shadow a nurse and become familiar with the workflow and expectations.
c. Days 2 and 3: The employee will receive hands-on orientation to their assigned hall/unit during their scheduled shift hours. This includes shadowing experienced nursing staff, learning resident routines, reviewing facility procedures, and becoming familiar with documentation and daily responsibilities.
d. Day 4: The employee will be assigned their own resident group, with continued support and guidance from the nursing team as needed.
