Software Development Engineer In Test

We are currently searching for an enthusiastic Software Development Engineer in Test to join Merlin team. Merlin team develops the core metadata platforms powering content discovery on Comcast's Xfinity X1 system. As a test engineer on Merlin team you will develop, execute and maintain functional, regression and performance tests. You will be helping to deliver high quality products to our customers. You're a great fit if you are passionate about automated software testing, have strong understanding of data models and APIs, love to own the project you work on, and are a team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Core Responsibilities:

• Write automation for new features. Add tests to Java based Continuous Integration test framework
• Work very closely with Dev team and other team members to identify issues early in s/w life cycle
• Execute manual and automated test cases on each build
• Collaborate well with clients, team members and product owner
• Deploy and maintain builds in QA environment
• Develop and maintain test plan, test cases, defects

Required skills:

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Very good understanding of Java
• Very good understanding of relational database. Experience with Oracle is preferable
• Very good understanding of data services (back-end applications) and web services
• Good understanding of test scripts and tools
• Jenkins knowledge
• Great communication skills: verbal, written, listening
• A passion for providing excellent service to all internal and external customers

Desirable skills:

• UNIX, Linux, or Mac background
• Experience with monitoring systems such as Prometheus, Grafana or Splunk
• Experience with Docker
