Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years of Neuro ICU experience or 2 years of comprehensive stroke center experience in a large hospital - Ability to read and interpret strips Description: The position involves working in a fast-paced Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The unit treats a variety of neurological diseases and disorders, including seizures and strokes. This role also includes managing overflow ICU patients from other units. Nurses may float to other facilities as needed based on organizational demands. Nurses will work every other weekend and holiday. Census may impact scheduling, and shifts could be canceled based on low patient volume. Work responsibilities include managing patients with acute and chronic conditions. Bedside procedures may include EVD placement, central line placement, and the care of ventilated patients. Nurses will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. Additional responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and conducting assessments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure are essential. The candidate should have a solid understanding of ICU protocols and best practices.
