Hospice Marketer / Community Liaison

Our hospice client is seeking an experienced, relationship-driven Hospice Marketer / Community Liaison to increase referrals, develop strong healthcare partnerships, and expand the hospice's presence within the community. The ideal candidate has established healthcare relationships, understands the hospice referral process, and is comfortable developing new business through consistent field outreach, relationship building, education, and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, physicians, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, home health agencies, rehabilitation facilities, senior communities, case managers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Generate qualified hospice referrals through consistent business development and community outreach.
• Conduct in-person sales calls, presentations, facility visits, networking activities, and educational meetings.
• Educate referral partners about hospice services, eligibility criteria, benefits, and the referral process.
• Identify new referral opportunities and develop strategies to increase census and market penetration.
• Maintain regular communication and follow-up with existing and prospective referral sources.
• Build relationships with hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, physicians, administrators, and directors of nursing.
• Coordinate closely with admissions and clinical teams to help ensure a smooth referral and admission process.
• Track sales activities, referrals, conversions, referral sources, and follow-up activities using the company's CRM or reporting system.
• Participate in networking events, healthcare associations, community events, facility functions, and other business-development activities.
• Monitor market activity and identify opportunities to strengthen the organization's competitive position.
• Meet established weekly and monthly activity, referral, admission, and business-development goals.
• Represent the hospice organization professionally and ethically throughout the community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospice, home health, healthcare, or senior-care marketing/business development experience preferred.
• Prior hospice marketing experience and an established healthcare referral network are strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated history of generating healthcare referrals and developing professional referral relationships.
• Knowledge of hospice services, Medicare hospice eligibility, and the healthcare referral process preferred.
• Strong sales, presentation, networking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable spending a significant portion of the workday in the field.
• Ability to organize and manage a territory independently.
• Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable healthcare regulations.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will already have relationships with healthcare professionals and organizations that routinely encounter patients who may benefit from hospice services. This individual should understand that successful hospice marketing is relationship-based and requires consistent visibility, education, trust, responsiveness, and follow-through. Candidates should be comfortable being accountable for measurable business-development results, including referral activity, referral-source growth, and admissions generated from their territory.
