Quality Control Technician (Food Production)

Location: Monroe, WI area

Schedule: 1st Shift

Pay: $16.00 – $19.50+/hr (depending on experience)

Summary:

A local Green County employer is seeking Quality Control Technicians to support product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance within a food production environment. This role is responsible for monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and supporting sanitation efforts to maintain a clean and controlled facility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preventing contamination, identifying quality issues, and ensuring products meet company and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards

  • Perform routine quality checks, inspections, and documentation throughout production

  • Identify, report, and assist in resolving quality issues or deviations

  • Ensure adherence to GMPs, HACCP, and company quality procedures

  • Collect samples and assist with product testing and verification processes

  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions

  • Work closely with production teams to ensure consistent product quality and minimize waste

  • Support sanitation efforts by verifying proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and production areas

  • Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment and areas meet cleanliness and safety standards

  • Assist with audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality control, food manufacturing, or related field preferred

  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a production environment

  • Ability to work in wet, hot, or cold environments and handle physical tasks as needed
