The Opportunity

SHADE Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Outside Commercial Sales Consultant (Specialty Design-Build) to lead our consultative sales process across the Phoenix and Tucson metropolitan markets.

In this high-ticket B2B and direct-to-consumer sales role, you will convert pre-qualified inbound inquiries and targeted commercial prospects into signed, engineered contracts. Selling custom tensioned fabric structures, shade sails, and specialty architectural frameworks for commercial, municipal, industrial, and luxury residential clients, you will conduct site evaluations, create conceptual 3D layouts using SketchUp, and guide decision-makers through structural feasibility and design options. If you bring strong sales instincts, CRM discipline, mechanical curiosity, and a proven track record of closing high-value contracts, SHADE Industries provides full technical training, inbound lead support, an escalating vehicle allowance, and uncapped $150,000–$250,000+ earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Consultative Sales Execution: Lead the full consultative sales cycle for custom, high-ticket architectural shade projects from inbound lead qualification through on-site consultation, proposal presentation, and contract execution.
• Lead Pre-Qualification & Pipeline Discipline: Qualify inbound leads over the phone, schedule on-site consultations, and manage pipeline stages and client touchpoints systematically within company CRM software.
• On-Site Field Consultations: Conduct in-person client evaluations across Phoenix and Tucson metro sites, assessing structural mounting feasibility, grade elevations, and site limitations.
• Conceptual 3D Layout Design: Utilize basic SketchUp 3D design software during the sales process to develop conceptual layouts and help clients visualize engineered structures.
• Architectural & Engineering Collaboration: Partner directly with internal engineering, drafting, and project management teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and accurate scope pricing.
• Commercial Account Development: Identify and cultivate relationships with commercial property developers, architects, general contractors, landscape architects, and municipal procurement directors.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

• Consultative Sales Tenure: Proven track record in high-ticket, consultative B2B or high-end residential sales within construction, building materials, architectural products, or specialty trades.
• Technical & Spatial Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read site layouts, understand core building principles, and conceptualize custom-engineered structures.
• CRM & Pipeline Mastery: High level of phone discipline, systematic follow-up habits, and direct experience managing pipelines using CRM software.
• Software Adaptability: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and the capacity to learn basic 3D conceptual modeling tools (SketchUp).
• Mobility & Driver Credentials: Valid Driver License with a clean, insurable driving record and a reliable personal vehicle for regional client travel.

Preferred

• Industry Background: Prior sales experience in commercial general contracting, architectural shade, outdoor living, commercial roofing, or building envelope industries.
• 3D Modeling Skills: Familiarity with 3D design tools such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar architectural rendering software.

Compensation & Benefits

• High-Earning Total Package: $70,000.00 base salary plus uncapped commissions, yielding $100,000.00 target Year 1 earnings and $150,000.00 to $250,000.00+ for top performers.
