Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Burn Intensive Care Unit Duration: 22 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required License: RN License (State-specific) or Compact RN License Certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA ONLY), PALS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Traveler will be required to pass a Telemetry test prior to starting. Description: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts working between the hours of 07:00 - 19:30. Every other weekend and some holidays are required. The position involves working in a critical care setting with adult and pediatric patients. Patients may have chemical, electrical, scald, or thermal burns and/or complex wounds. Experience in a Level One Trauma Center is preferred. The unit consists of 11 beds with an average daily census of 10.55. The interdisciplinary team includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Patient ratios are 2:1 days and weekends. Travelers are required to float as needed. No burn experience is necessary, but ICU experience is mandatory. A telemetry exam must be passed before the start of the assignment. Passing criteria includes 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a passing score of 80% or higher. The position emphasizes compassionate care and effective communication within the team. Strong foundational skills in managing ventilated patients and interpreting arterial blood gases are essential. Additional skills include management of dysrhythmias, central line care, and procedural sedation. The position emphasizes infection prevention and isolation precautions. All applicants are expected to meet strict criteria for testing and performance. The facility is known for its high standards in medical training and patient care.
