Ideally, selected candidates will be near a JACOBS U.S. based office, but we intend to hire the "best" candidates.Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group is seeking a proactive and resourceful Preconstruction Project Manager. The Preconstruction Project Manager will work to bridge the gap between engineering design and construction within necessary timelines, established budgets and exceeding the expectations of our clients. This role involves extensive communication with the design, procurement, scheduling and construction teams to develop plans, and mitigate risks against schedule, budget, safety or quality of the overall project. The Preconstruction Project Manager’s primary objective is to ensure construction projects are properly planned and coordinated from the early phases of design with a smooth transition into construction.Responsibilities:Support the preconstruction team on various assigned tasks involved in preconstruction planning deliverables including bid package development, scheduling, estimating, virtual design and construction modeling, and reportingParticipate as a key contributor and knowledge base for the overall design constructability and sequencing planDrive collaboration between various stakeholdersKnow Client Expectations and Manage Client InterfaceLead planning efforts including strategy development, and execution with design, procurement and construction management teams to ensure efficient and timely flow of informationConduct constructability reviews during all phases of design to include the appropriate construction and trade resources for synchronized reviews.Support the review of modularization and off-site manufacturing studiesSupport estimate and schedule development and recommend opportunities for optimization based on previous experience, and value driven solutionsDevelop subcontracting and procurement strategies in collaboration with the construction management and procurement teamsSupport the development of 4-D visualizationsDevelop thorough site logistics plans including utility, offsite or other requirementsCoordinate with Jacobs safety, quality, project services and technical services groups to ensure a comprehensive preconstruction planning processPrepare and Maintain Risk Registers and Mitigation PlansWork to build a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor and all stakeholders to ensure a timely resolution of project issues and the overall success of the project. Here's what you'll need Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree5+ years experience in managing construction projects related to industrial and/or commercial facilitiesExperience with 3D Modelling softwareField Construction Experience on active construction projectsEffective communication and leadership skillsExperience optimizing construction scheduling and sequencingAbility and willingness to travel to support project and client needs during planning, design, procurement and early construction phases. Travel requirements will vary based on project needs and may be up to 50% of working time, including extended periods at client sites, construction sites, fabrication facilities and project offices throughout North America. Travel frequency may fluctuate based on project lifecycle and business needs.Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment while supporting project teams and stakeholders located across multiple time zones. This role requires a balance between remote work and in person participation for project meetings, workshops, client engagements, design reviews, constructability reviews, and execution planning sessions as required.
