Summary The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of buildings, equipment and systems throughout the assigned facilities. Must possess the ability to perform general mechanical repairs. The Maintenance Technician II performs demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of facility equipment across trades including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, refrigeration, pneumatic tube, painting, carpentry and related systems, in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in a hospital or clinic environment. Responsibilities Performs general maintenance repairs and other duties as assigned as referenced in Unit Specific Competency Check List and performs any work assignment in conjunction with the skill sets required of the job. Responds to emergency situations including disaster response, power and other utilities loss, floods, etc., to limit impact to the facility. Performs inspections, maintenance and repair while providing a safe environment for patients, team members and visitors. Identifies and understands basic blueprint terms, components and symbols; relates prints to actual locations; reads and interprets schematics; uses floor plans to locate walls and parts of buildings. Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret schematics and perform general mechanical repairs; possesses knowledge to identify basic hand tools and use them safely. Maintains knowledge of basic tools used in the construction trade and description of procedures for taking care of hand tools safely. Credentials and Qualifications: Credentials and Qualifications High School Diploma/GED required Four (4) Years of HVAC/R service-related technician experience required One (1) Year of HVAC/R service-related technician experience in a healthcare facility/environment required Ability to work varied shifts and/or weekends as needed Ability to travel between Moffitt Cancer Center facilities Evidence of a good driving record and maintain a good record per Moffitt policy Salary and Equity Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
