Registered Nurse - Post-Op/Oncology/Tele

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with weekends as scheduled.

Job Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team on the Post-Op/Oncology/Tele unit. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from surgery and those undergoing oncology treatments. Nurses on this unit will care for a diverse group of patients, including general MedSurg patients and oncology patients with complications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions.
• Administer medications and perform clinical procedures, including chemotherapy as appropriate.
• Manage patient care plans and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding post-operative care and chemotherapy.
• Maintain accurate patient records using EPIC charting system.
• Respond to patient needs and provide appropriate interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• BLS certification required; ONS/ONCC (Chemotherapy Biotherapy) certification is a plus.
• Experience caring for oncology patients and managing chest tubes is highly preferred.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
