Medical Assistant I

Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Position Summary: Under general supervision of licensed personnel, the Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for continuous, efficient, and smooth patient flow in the outpatient/ambulatory setting. Serves as the patient liaison through clinical responsibilities and plays an important role in the hospital’s clinical operations, and patient experience. The MA responds to hourly variations in patient volume, clinician, and room availability to continually maximize efficient use of space and resources in the clinic; identifies and provides necessary clinical preparation pertaining to patient care according to protocols; assists with patient care as warranted and within their scope of practice. The Medical Assistant may be present in secure medication storage areas and are allowed incidental access to medication. The Medical Assistant will be clinically supervised by a Physician or Physician Assistant. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent, Associates degree preferred Medical Assistant Program Experience: Pediatric CMA experience preferred Licensure/ Certifications: CPR and Basic Life Support Certification NCCA (National Commission for Certifying Agency) recognized Medical Certification required OR certification needs to be completed within one year of hire date.
