LA Construction Corp. is seeking a high-caliber Construction Project Accountant & Full-Charge Bookkeeper to serve as the financial backbone of our established operations in Flint. What You Will Be Doing

You will manage the full accounting lifecycle and compliance framework for our civil and utility divisions:

Full-Cycle Accounting: Administer all accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows to optimize cash flow, guarantee timely vendor payments, and accelerate client collections.

Union Payroll Management: Process weekly union payroll with absolute accuracy while maintaining flawless compliance with collective bargaining agreements and labor regulations.

Project Profitability Tracking: Prepare comprehensive financial statements and granular job-costing data to evaluate project margins across active commercial and federal sites.

Risk & Compliance Logistics: Manage critical documentation for lien waivers, certificates of insurance (COIs), and subcontract agreements to mitigate corporate liability.

Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile monthly bank accounts and credit statements to deliver precise, transparent financial records to executive leadership.

Auditing Coordination: Partner directly with external auditors and CPA professionals to facilitate seamless annual financial reviews, corporate filings, and tax preparation.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional full-charge bookkeeping or project accounting experience.

Industry Literacy: Significant, hands-on experience working directly within the construction sector.

Technical Mastery: High proficiency in construction-specific accounting software (such as Sage, Viewpoint, or QuickBooks Construction) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Workflow Management: Proven ability to manage complex payroll systems and multitask effectively within a deadline-driven front office.

Preferred Background:

5+ years of dedicated financial management experience in the construction sector.

Direct experience handling union reporting, certified payroll, and benefit contributions.

Operational background in a civil construction, utilities, or heavy sitework office environment.

Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
