About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Cath RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10-hour days, 4 x 10's with call Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active state license required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS Must-Have: - Must be able to admit, prep, and recover procedural cases from Cath, IR, and EP. - Must be able to read telemetry strips and titrate drips. - Knowledge of mostly all IV medications is required. - Preferable experience with peripheral angiography cases and IR & neuro intervention. Description: The unit has 6 pre/post beds. The average number of cases per day is 4-6. Common diagnoses and types of patients include STEMI, stroke, drain placement, line placement, all heart catheters, peripheral angiograms, IVC placement, temporary pacemaker insertion, TEE's, cardioversions, and EP studies. There is a charge nurse who takes assignments sometimes. Cath Lab technicians are present. Shifts may require staying late depending on cases. Client scrubs are provided. Department-specific orientation is typically 1 week, involving 4 shifts. The charting system used is EPIC. The position operates in an acute care setting. The trauma level is 2.
