Schedule/Shift

11:30 PM - 8:00 AM or 9:30 PM - 8:00 AM, with 5x8's or 4x10's. Every other weekend and holidays are required. There is no on-call or float requirement.

Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This position includes producing quality diagnostic images by properly positioning patients, using immobilization devices, selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs, and operating necessary equipment for specific procedures.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting proper technical factors.
• Restrict radiation exposure to unaffected parts of the patient through appropriate beam restrictions.
• Perform portable x-ray examinations in various patient settings, including rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identify patient films correctly with name and x-ray number, and mark films to indicate the side taken.
• Develop exposed x-ray films through established processing methods.
• Complete patient requisitions with necessary details including technologist initials and film size.
• Maintain an orderly x-ray room as directed by department leadership.
• Prepare and assist in administering radiopaque contrast media as needed.
• Manage administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, record maintenance, and patient reception.
• Assist patients with mobility and positioning as required.
• Communicate effectively with patients, considering their individual needs such as age, culture, and physical abilities.

Required Experience

No specific experience is required, but completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements is essential.

Certifications/Licensure

• Must possess a New Jersey State License.
• Applicant must be eligible for the National Registry and pass the examination.
