Job Title POST DOCTORAL FELLOW - Materials Science and Engineering Location Rolla, Missouri Hiring Department Materials Science and Engineering Key Responsibilities Develop advanced alloys using machine learning. Manufacture refractory alloys, oxide dispersion‑strengthened alloys, and environmental barrier coatings. Conduct microstructural characterization utilizing techniques such as transmission electron microscopy and atom probe tomography. Perform mechanical testing and oxidation testing. Analyze experimental results. Prepare presentations and write research articles and reports. Interact with other researchers in the team. Assist with training graduate students. Help with writing research proposals. Qualifications Hold a PhD degree in materials science and engineering or a closely related discipline such as mechanical engineering. Preferred Qualifications Significant experience in micro‑structural characterization using electron microscopy. Experience in mechanical testing. Experience in advanced manufacturing. Strong background in materials science and engineering especially in structural metallic materials. Strong publication record. Good proposal writing experience.
