More than 30,000 organizations already rely on us to verify the identities of people and things, grant access to digital services, analyze vast quantities of information and encrypt data to make the connected world more secure.Montgomeryville, P.A., OnsitePosition SummaryThales has a vacancy for a Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) to support Thales' customer commitment for quality products delivered on time by maintaining all production equipment in OEM condition while minimizing downtime and expense.Key Areas of Responsibility* Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all production equipment in OEM or standard operating condition:o Test faulty equipment using precision test apparatus.o Apply knowledge of functional operation of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems to perform complex diagnostics to determine the root cause of malfunctions and execute timely repairs of equipment.o Repair or replace defective parts and wiring.o Adjust mechanical and electronic parts.o Align, adjust and calibrate machines according to specifications.o Carry out preventive maintenance per written procedures.o When necessary, ensure a timely response, repair and solution to equipment related issues by contacting and teaming with other appropriate individuals or organizations.* Contribute to the improvement of the measurable metric objectives of the organization in the areas of equipment OPE, maintenance downtime, MTBF, yield, productivity, expenses and any other metrics determined helpful to ensure a world-class organization.* Maintenance of microprocessor-based control equipment, general instrumentation and electrical control systems used to carry out first line diagnostic, troubleshooting and maintenance work.* Investigate the root cause of issues and provide information to Engineers and Project Leaders, as assigned.* Perform and/or assist with equipment/tooling setups.* Assist PTCs, Operators and/or Engineers with resolving production issues.* Enter and retrieve data for repair parts and maintenance tasks, as required.* Maintenance & housekeeping of shop area, tools, and materials.* Assist Engineers in the design and development of cutting-edge technologies in support of the product portfolio, as assigned.* Assist in Operator training related to equipment setup and maintenance.* Assist in the development of process documentation, equipment maintenance standards, BOMs, detailed parts breakdowns, assembly, testing and setup procedures, as assigned. Document and maintain prototype construction, test data and related documentation.* Assist in the research and evaluation of new or replacement electronic/mechanical components.* Participate in special projects working under descriptive instructions, including new installations, retrofits and upgrades, as assigned.Minimum Qualifications* Ability to work with minimal supervision.* Must be able to work under pressure to diagnose problems.* Must be able to read and understand relay logic and schematic diagrams, perform tests and follow calibration procedures using test equipment and instrumentation.* Must be able to use various hand tools, power tools, saws, drill press, volt/ohm meter, oscilloscope, amp probe, soldering iron.* Ability to use routine software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.* 2-5 years of experience as a mechanical, electrical or electro-mechanical technician or relevant combination of experience and education.Special Position Requirements* Average daily physical effort, with occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds and sustained physical effort.* Periodic working in cramped quarters and short-term exposure to noise, heat, fumes, dust, or wet environments.* Working with high voltages required.* The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell.* Physical demands include extended hours on feet on a concrete surface, overtime hours, occasional stressful conditions, extensive time troubleshooting difficult problems.* Must be able to work weekend and intra-week (up to 12hr shifts) overtime as necessary.* Be flexible to work off-shift hours to support company requirements/personnel vacations and fill in as required outside of primary responsibilities/duties for limited time frames.Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM M-Th with occasional OT neededPhysical Environment: Production Floor In Manufacturing FacilityTravel: None* This position is subject to standard pre-employment background check and urine drug screening.* This position is subject to annual employment background check screening.* This position is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.What We OfferThales provides an extensive benefits program for all full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week and their eligible dependents, including the following:•Elective Health, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, Voluntary Life and AD&D, Whole Group Life w/LTC, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Accident Insurance, Legal Plan, Identity Theft, and Pet Insurance.•Retirement Savings Plan after 30 days of employment with a company contribution and a match, and with no vesting period.•Company paid holidays and Paid Time Off.•Company provided Life Insurance.Why Join Us?Say HI and learn more about working at Thales click here#LI-onsite#LI-PD1This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
