Oversee assigned student activities and services. Qualifications Master’s degree Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (T‑TESS) appraiser Knowledge of campus operations Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness Ability to manage budget and personnel Ability to implement policy and procedures Ability to interpret data Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Two years experience as a classroom teacher Responsibilities Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs, helping teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate. Participate in program evaluation measures and make suggestions for improvement where needed. Reinforce expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies and classroom management. Foster collegiality and team building among staff members; encourage active involvement in decision‑making. Take a leadership role in planning activities and implementing programs to ensure attainment of the school’s mission. Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff, parents, and community members. Assist principal in developing, maintaining, and using information systems to track campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators. Act as campus behavioral coordinator as required; develop a positive student discipline system. Ensure school rules are uniformly applied and student discipline is equitable. Conduct conferences about student and school issues with parents, students, and teachers. Ensure students are supervised during non‑instructional periods. Oversee campus operations in principal’s absence. Plan and schedule daily school activities including class schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activities. Monitor student attendance and address issues with staff. Compile annual budget requests with department heads and faculty. Requisition supplies, textbooks, equipment; maintain inventory per district procedures. Coordinate transportation, custodial, and cafeteria services to meet campus needs. Comply with district policies, state and federal laws, and regulatory requirements. Observe employee performance, conduct evaluations, and serve as second appraiser when needed. Assist principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff. Articulate the school’s mission to the community and encourage support. Demonstrate awareness of community needs and initiate activities to involve parents and community. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain regular and reliable attendance. Supervise and evaluate the work of professional staff as assigned by the principal.
