Assess communication skills including articulation, language, fluency, pragmatics, and AAC needs. Interpret assessment results and prepare written reports that clearly describe student strengths and needs. Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility meetings. Service Delivery Provide direct and indirect services in individual, small-group, and classroom settings. Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals. Utilize evidence-based practices to support communication development. Integrate communication supports within natural educational environments. Support students using AAC systems and assistive technology. IEP Development and Compliance Develop measurable annual goals and objectives related to communication needs. Maintain accurate service logs, progress monitoring data, and documentation. Complete progress reports and other required special education documentation in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with IDEA, Massachusetts Special Education Regulations, and district procedures. Collaboration and Consultation Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Provide consultation regarding communication supports, accommodations, and classroom strategies. Support staff in implementing communication-focused interventions and AAC systems. Participate in team meetings, professional learning communities, etc. Family Engagement Communicate with families regarding student progress and communication needs. Provide strategies and resources to support communication development across settings. Foster positive partnerships with families and caregivers. Professional Responsibilities Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based speech-language practices and special education regulations. Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities. Uphold ethical and professional standards established by ASHA. Job Requirements Required Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Massachusetts licensure from the Board of Registration for Speech-Language Pathology. Massachusetts DESE license as a Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders Specialist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred or eligibility to obtain. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedures. Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Experience working in school-based settings. Experience with preschool and/or elementary-aged students. Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorders, complex communication needs, and AAC systems. Knowledge of inclusive practices and collaborative service delivery models.
