This position will be on-site at our Austin, TX office with the potential for 1-2 work from home days per week, based on business needs.

The Collection Manager will be an integral member of the finance organization, responsible for leading the Collections team, driving operational improvements, optimizing collections processes, and delivering actionable reporting and analytics. This position plays a key role in managing the company’s accounts receivable function and ensuring timely and effective collection of outstanding receivables. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the daily activities of the Collections Specialists team, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding receivables. 


• Develop and implement collections strategies to improve cash flow and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO). 


• Analyze and optimize collections processes, identifying and executing on opportunities for automation and efficiency. 


• Prepare and present regular collections reports and key metrics to Finance leadership and other stakeholders. 


• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Billing teams to resolve disputes and improve the overall collections process. 


• Monitor and manage collections performance metrics, targets, and team KPIs. 


• Ensure adherence to collections policies, procedures, and internal controls. 


• Support the monthly close process through accurate A/R reporting and timely resolution of outstanding balances. 


• Oversee credit risk assessments and recommend appropriate credit limits and terms. 


• Coordinate with external agencies or legal resources for escalated collection matters when necessary. 


• Lead training, development, and performance management efforts for the Collections team. 


• Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements as needed.  

Qualifications and Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. 


• 5+ years of experience in collections, credit management, or revenue cycle management with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role. 


• Experience in a SaaS or technology company preferred. 


• Proven track record of driving process improvements and optimizing collections workflows. 


• Strong understanding of collections best practices, credit risk evaluation, and internal controls. 


• Proficient in Excel and collections software; experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred. 


• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience in building dashboards and KPIs. 


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 


• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation preferred.
