Role Description The Estimator role at Zickel Flooring is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Fenton, MO. The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project plans and specifications, performing accurate quantity takeoffs, and preparing detailed cost estimates for commercial flooring projects. Day‑to‑day tasks include analyzing bids and proposals, requesting and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes, and collaborating with project managers and sales team members to ensure competitive and accurate pricing. The role also involves maintaining estimating records, updating price lists, and assisting with budget development and value engineering options. The Estimator will interact regularly with internal teams and external partners to support timely, successful project awards and execution. Qualifications Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost calculations. Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant digital tools used for bid preparation and analysis. Knowledge of commercial construction processes and flooring materials (carpet, resilient, ceramic, stone, and wood) or willingness to learn quickly. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, sales team members, suppliers, and subcontractors. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Previous experience in estimating, construction, or commercial flooring is preferred but not required for candidates with strong transferable skills. Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field is beneficial, or equivalent practical experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
