The hotel catering sales manager drives revenue by proactively selling and coordinating corporate meetings, social banquets, and weddings. They manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and giving property site tours to finalizing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and overseeing on-site execution with culinary teams.

Compensation:

$62,500

Responsibilities:

• Sales & Prospecting: Solicit new corporate and social catering business through cold calls, networking, and community outreach to hit revenue quotas.

• Event Planning: Coordinate menu selections, room layouts, audio-visual needs, and pricing negotiations with clients.

• Operational Coordination: Create and distribute BEOs to internal departments, including the kitchen, banquet operations, and housekeeping.

• Client Relations: Conduct site inspections, manage pre-convention meetings, and ensure high customer satisfaction from booking to post-event.

• Revenue Management: Upsell food, beverage, and packages while monitoring competitor trends and local market pricing.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 to 3+ years of hospitality sales, catering coordination, or banquet operations experience.

• Education: High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or Marketing is frequently preferred.

• Technical Skills: Familiarity with property management and sales software like Delphi, Opera, or Newmarket, alongside Microsoft Office.

• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational abilities, with a flexible schedule to work evenings or weekends as events demand.
