DevSecOps Engineer

OverviewThe AI Strike team is creating mission critical AI Applications. As a DevSecOps Engineer you will work with AI Engineers, Application Engineers, and Data Scientist to make the AI Applications we are creating Production ready. This includes application security hardening, creating build and deployment automation using Terraform, Helm Charts, and other build and deployment automation tools. We are creating high impact applications that are helping drive the organization and mission.ContributionsEstablish development tools and infrastructure for automationUnderstand the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developersAutomate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processesTest and examine code written by others and analyze resultsEnsure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threatsIdentify technical problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop software updates and ‘fixes’Work with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intendedSupport enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systemsAct as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team membersWork with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services providedPresent regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team members.QualificationsAbility to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceMasters degree and 3 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience OR no degree and 9 years of experience3 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)3 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket3 Years of Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages3 Years of application DevSecOps Experience with development experience in an Agile environment3 Years of Experience implementing containerized solutions utilizing Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, or Podman 3 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration3 Years of Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, CircleCI, TravisCI3 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestrationExperience integrating test automation including performance, security, and functional tests into CI/CD PipelinesMultiple industry certifications related to cloud, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, or Microsoft technologies (five (5) or more preferred). Preferred:Experience implementing automated testing frameworks including SeleniumExcellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skillsExperience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendationsExperience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or RubyExperience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or AnsibleAbout steampunkSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $175,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
