As we continue to grow, we're looking for a skilled and dependable Welder / Brazer to join our production team. At MPE your expertise won't just sit on a shelf; it will power the future. You'll be diving into exciting, globally impactful projects, shaping everything from electric vehicle powertrains and next-generation semiconductor fabrication to particle accelerators, cutting-edge energy research, and national defense. - Welding: Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on steel according to print and project specifications.
- Brazing: Perform precision brazing operations to join metal components, ensuring strong, clean joints according to technical drawings and project specifications.
- Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and products. Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning parts prior to welding.
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure components are aligned and assembled correctly.
- Machining Support: Provide general support to the Machining department as needed based on workload and schedule, including packaging and shipment preparation, material cutting, and other production tasks.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate fabrication equipment, including saws, crimpers, winders, grinders, and other various cutting tools.
- Quality Control: Identify faulty components and inspect welded surfaces to ensure they meet our high quality standards.
- Operational Efficiency: Maintain an organized, clean, and safe workspace. Complete all necessary production paperwork and record keeping accurately.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members to manage equipment, resources, and project timelines.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in GTAW (TIG) welding. Must be able to pass a TIG welding test.
- Education: High school diploma or GED (Required).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools and the ability to read and understand complex technical blueprints and schematics.
- Dexterity: Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, particularly when working with small instruments and precision components.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Experience working in a production or assembly environment.
- Reliability: Strong time management skills with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit for extended periods, and consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and other related manufacturing documents.
- Experience with soldering and/or brazing.
- Previous experience in equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with building or structure codes.

- Work four days per week with a 3 day weekend!
- 7:30am-6:00pm / Mon-Thu OR Tue-Fri
