Unit Information: Respiratory Therapy (NICU)

Location: Medical City Las Colinas

Floor: 2 nd

General Information

Tell us about the unit(s):

· Number of Beds -NA

· Number of Staff – 11

· Type of staff:

o Day Shift – 2 RT (1 NICU) with clinical coordinator M-F

o Night Shift - 2 RT

· Patient Ratios – 1 st RT (NICU, MST and or PCU) 2 nd RT (ER, ICU, MST or PCU) subject to change based on acuity.

· Type of equipment – Ventilators (servo U, PB 980, MR1 transport vent, C1 Hamilton Medical) Bipap (V60 , C1), F&P bubble CPAP, F&P HFNC

· EMR - Meditech

Typical hiring profile

Skill Set Most recruited for: 

Must have : candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

· Critical care management for adult vent patients

· Experience with vent weaning guidelines

· Trach care management

· Emergency and standard airway care for all patient population

· EKG procedure

· Blood gas analysis and technique to draw ABG sample

· RT Medication administration

· RT plan of care, assessment and progress evaluation

· Oxygen therapy

· Code Blue, Trauma, STEMI response

· Documentation and charge for therapy provided

· Physician communication

· Safety standards and checklist completion

· Infection prevention standards

Preferred or nice to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.

· NICU experience

List typical procedures performed on unit(s):   

· Blood gas analysis

· Bedside Bronchoscopy assist

· Emergency and routine airway management

· EKG

·

· BLS

· ACLS

· PALS

· NRP

· TX state license

· NBRC RRT
