Speech Therapist- Per Diem

As the Per Diem Speech Therapist in Home Health, you will assess and evaluate patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders, functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. Based on the assessment and evaluation, you will help determine a treatment plan, perform interventions to improve patients’ well‑being, and evaluate progress. Primary Responsibilities Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, in accordance with the plan of care, and in coordination with other members of the health care team. Evaluate the patient’s level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests. Assist the physician in developing the therapy plan of care. Treat patients to communicate effectively by expressing thoughts according to the patient’s condition using acceptable standards of practice. Observe, record, and report to the supervising nurse and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes in the patient’s condition. Instruct the patient, family, caregiver, and other health care team members in areas of speech therapy in which they can participate. Required Qualifications Licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of residence. Current CPR certification. Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation. Pay ranges from $41.70/hr to $62.55/hr based on full‑time employment.
