What You'll Do


As an Accountant, you'll work closely with the Controller to support the financial operations of the Credit Union by:

• Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts
• Preparing and analyzing financial information used to support key business decisions
• Assisting with monthly financial statements and regulatory reporting
• Managing accounts payable functions for all entities
• Researching and resolving accounting discrepancies
• Supporting audits, examinations, and vendor relationships
• Partnering with departments throughout the organization to provide financial insight and guidance
• Contributing to department projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives
• Serving as a trusted member of the Finance team by providing cross-functional support as needed

Qualifications


We're looking for candidates with:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial reports
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Credit union or financial institution accounting experience a plus
• Ability to be bonded in accordance with State of Iowa and Credit Union requirements
