Job Summary:
The Neuro Cardiac Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Newburgh, Indiana. This role involves providing specialized care for complex medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including post-cardiac catheterization recovery, stroke, TIA, ICD management, and oncological surgical patients. Candidates are required to bring their licensed certification on the first day. The position offers day shifts working 12-hour hours.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, minimum of two years of strong Telemetry/Medical-Surgical experience, trauma level II experience, recent Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience, associate degree or certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NG/PEG tubes, PIV insertion, Tikosyn administration, chest tubes, and charge nurse duties.
• Schedule: 12-hour days working six days per week with every other holiday and three weekends out of every six. The contract is scheduled to start on 06/22/2026 and end on 08/30/2026.
• Additional Information: Cross-campus float within skillset to Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus and potential float to Deaconess Henderson (KY). Up to 36 hours may be canceled within the 13-week contract due to low census.
• Certifications: A current active compact license, AHA BLS, and NIHSS required.
• Clinical Experience: Experience with complex Med/Surg/Telemetry patients, neuro assessments, tele/12-lead EKG interpretation, drip initiation/titration, and heart cath recovery.
• Notes: No COVID-19 vaccine required; subject to change. Float requirement includes flotations within the same campus and cross-campus rotations with proper notice.
