Position Summary: Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients. Acts as a role model and resource to clinic staff and coordinates physicians and patients as requested by the supervisor/manager. Assists in developing patient education for assigned clinic. Utilizes a team based approach to delivering patient care services.

Required Qualifications: One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics class Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience Knowledge and practice of body mechanics Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques Current chemotheropy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire Current California RN license Current BLS certification All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care team Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of JCAHO requirements Oncology Certification Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
