TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Wichita, Kansas. Job Details Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/22/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 36 Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities Provide direct care to patients with neurological, orthopedic, or other rehabilitation needs including stroke recovery, spinal cord injuries, joint replacements, or brain injuries. Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other rehab team members to develop and implement personalized care plans that support patient recovery goals. Monitor patients' physical and mental condition, vital signs, neurological function, and progress in therapy; adjust care plans as necessary. Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, ensure proper dosage and timely delivery; assist with pain management strategies during rehabilitation. Educate patients and families about recovery goals, rehabilitation techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to promote independence in daily activities. Respond to medical emergencies, including sudden changes in condition, respiratory distress, or cardiac issues, and stabilize patients when needed. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR). Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients and families are prepared for post‑discharge care, including home modifications, continued therapies, and follow‑up appointments. Work closely with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and social workers—to provide comprehensive care. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in a rehabilitation setting. Current BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required. Eligible for state licensure. Ability to stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift with proper body mechanics. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Compassionate, patient, skilled in promoting recovery and independence.
