School Psychologist in Waukegan, IL

A dynamic and supportive school district near Waukegan, IL is seeking dedicated contract School Psychologists for the 2026-2027 academic year. Positions are available for both early childhood and K-4 grade levels, with full-time and part-time options. You'll work Monday to Friday within a collaborative educational setting from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027.


Key Qualifications:

• Active license to practice as a School Psychologist in Illinois
• Experience working within elementary, middle, or high school settings
• Strong knowledge of special education law and current best practices
• Ability to conduct re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, educators, and assessment teams
• For early childhood position: capacity to travel between multiple preschools in Winnetka
• Commitment to supporting families new to the special education process

Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and re-evaluations for varied school-age students, ensuring accurate and timely assessments
• Lead or participate in eligibility and re-evaluation meetings, providing clear feedback and recommendations
• For early childhood: screen and evaluate students transitioning from early intervention services, support preschool partners, and attend IEP meetings
• For K-4: facilitate MTSS data team meetings, support the IEP process, and guide teams through problem-solving steps
• Ensure compliance with all special education laws and district policies
• Maintain effective, professional communication with all stakeholders
