Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined Medical/Cardiac ICU environment serving a patient population that is approximately 70% medical (sepsis, pneumonia, ARDS, organ failure, DKA) and 30% cardiology (heart failure, post-arrest, arrhythmias)
• Manage and interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias; proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management is required and will be assessed via a pass/fail telemetry test
• Operate and manage ventilators and perform conscious sedation as part of routine ICU care
• Float to other ICU units and border areas within scope to meet facility needs as required
• Document all clinical care using Epic EMR (hard stop charting) and manage medications via Pyxis
• Adhere to all scheduled shifts; the facility is unable to accommodate scheduling requests outside of approved time-off requests, and no scheduling changes are permitted during the first two weeks

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington State or a compact license meeting Washington State requirements (pending licenses are not accepted)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; candidates must pass a facility-administered telemetry test
• Proficiency with ventilator management and conscious sedation
• Epic EMR experience required
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• IV insertion experience
• Experience with intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and pulmonary artery (PA) lines
• Level I trauma experience
• Seasoned travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers with strong ICU backgrounds may be considered
