Ecommerce Catalog Specialist

Heyden Supply is a fast growing, family‑owned construction supply and building materials company serving contractors, builders, and DIY customers across the Southeast and nationwide. We specialize in concrete forming supplies, rebar, fasteners, power tools, and jobsite essentials sold through our retail locations and a rapidly expanding online store. Our ecommerce operation is a core part of our growth, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in getting the details right. Role Description You’ll own the day‑to‑day health of our online product catalog. That means building new product listings, keeping existing ones accurate, maintaining a clean category structure customers can actually navigate, and keeping pricing current across thousands of SKUs. This is detailed work with real impact. A well‑built catalog is the difference between a customer finding the right concrete anchor in 30 seconds or leaving for a competitor. As a secondary responsibility, you’ll be a backup point of contact for customers calling in from the website; answering product questions, checking order status, and routing anything complex to the right person. What You’ll Do Primary - Catalog Management (most of your day) Create new product listings on our WooCommerce store: titles, descriptions, specifications, images, and attributes Audit and improve existing listings for accuracy, completeness, and consistency Maintain and refine our product category hierarchy so customers and search engines can find what they need Keep online pricing accurate and synced with our internal systems, applying updates as costs and promotions change Flag gaps, duplicates, and data problems in the catalog and fix them Work with purchasing and operations to get specs, images, and details for new products Secondary - Customer Support Overflow Answer incoming calls from website customers when primary lines are busy Help customers with product questions, availability, and order status Route quotes, jobsite delivery questions, and account issues to the appropriate team member What We’re Looking For Required Strong attention to detail. You notice the typo, the wrong unit of measure, the misfiled product Comfortable working in web‑based admin tools and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) Clear written communication; product descriptions customers can actually use Able to manage repetitive, high‑volume work accurately and stay organized Preferred Experience with WooCommerce, Shopify, or a similar eCommerce platform’s admin Familiarity with construction supplies, building materials, or the trades - you know the difference between rebar and wire mesh, or you’re genuinely interested in learning fast Experience working with an ERP or inventory system Basic understanding of SEO as it applies to product pages Photo editing basics (cropping, resizing, background cleanup) Why Heyden Family‑owned company where your work is visible and your input matters A growing eCommerce channel - you’re building something, not babysitting it Stable, full‑time role with health, dental, vision after 90 days and 401k after 1 year $42,000–$50,000 per year ($20–$24/hr), depending on experience - construction/building materials knowledge and eCommerce platform experience earn the top of the range Qualifications Proficiency in Catalog Management and maintaining digital catalog accuracy Strong Analytical Skills to interpret catalog performance data and make informed decisions Effective Communication skills to collaborate with different teams and stakeholders Focus on Customer Experience to ensure a user‑friendly and engaging product catalog Experience with eCommerce platforms is highly desirable Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
