Maintenance Technician

Position Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This position performs a broad range of maintenance activities involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in supporting production by minimizing equipment downtime, completing preventive maintenance, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Perform a variety of maintenance and repair activities on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. Assist with troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, machine tools, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, refrigeration equipment, and other facility-related systems. Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections and complete assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with established schedules. Assist with the movement and disposal of non-production materials, including equipment, machinery, metal chips, waste materials, oils, and other shop-related items. Collect, prepare, and load scrap metal for recycling or disposal. Perform hazardous waste management duties in accordance with company procedures and environmental regulations. Report defective equipment, unsafe conditions, or questionable materials through established reporting processes. Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Complete assigned maintenance projects and work orders with minimal supervision. Support emergency repairs and unplanned maintenance activities as needed. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical maintenance, facility maintenance, or a related field. Working knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and general maintenance practices. Ability to read, understand, and follow maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety policies. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and management. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to work any assigned shift and be available for emergency or off-shift maintenance assignments as neede.
