Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for supporting local economic growth? Eastern Maine Development Corporation (EMDC) is seeking a Lending & Accounting Specialist to support our financial operations and commercial lending divisions.

What You’ll Do

This dynamic hybrid role provides vital administrative and financial support to both our Finance and Lending departments. Your time will be spent on duties among these core areas:

1. Commercial Loan Processing: Coordinate the end-to-end processing, documentation, and closing of approved commercial loans, letters of credit, and modifications. You will serve as the primary liaison between borrowers, Loan Officers, and legal entities to ensure strict policy compliance.
2. General Accounting: Handle day-to-day accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) tasks. This includes coding invoices, performing account reconciliations, managing purchase orders, and assisting with month-end general ledger entries.

What We Are Looking For

1. Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
2. Experience: 2 to 5+ years of experience as a commercial loan processor or in a commercial lending support role is strongly preferred.
3. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and general ledger accounting programs. You must possess strong legal document comprehension, critical thinking skills, and a high level of accuracy.
4. Vetting: Must participate in a criminal background and employment history review per Small Business Administration (SBA) guidelines.
5. Onsite: This position is not remote and requires working in our main office in Bangor, Maine.
