Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position with 1:7 ratios and required floating support.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• 1:7 patient ratios
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48 schedules available
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required
• Preferred Epic charting system experience

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA certification only accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE use preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry preferred
• Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
• Experience with total joint replacement and surgical drain care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg and Med/Surg-Tele patients
• Support nursing student clinical education alongside regular clinical duties
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area to be eligible (no local candidates accepted)
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit-testing guidelines
