Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg - Part Time - Nights

Williamsburg, VA – Sign on bonus eligible up to $7,000 for experienced nurses. Responsibilities Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the total nursing care of assigned patients. Utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. Supervises and delegates non‑professional personnel to ensure optimum patient care. Demonstrates competence in dealing with age‑related needs of specific patient populations. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services in accordance with Riverside Health System standards and facility goals. Assesses patient clinical and psychosocial needs by applying standards of practice for the specialty or patient population. Partners with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate a plan of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes. Incorporates evidence‑based standards of practice and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team in care coordination. Facilitates safe patient transition to the next level of care as part of the plan of care. Demonstrates sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput and ensure consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focuses on quality outcomes when addressing service needs to ensure evidence‑based quality care. Understands and respects diverse patient care populations and modifies education methods accordingly. Coordinates and delivers individualized patient education and discharge education to family or caregivers; evaluates comprehension and documents findings. Accurately completes all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. Delegates and prioritizes tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations. Evaluates resources and support needed and uses systems to ensure needs are met. Qualifications Education: MSN, BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma required; specialty certification in field highly encouraged. Experience: Preferred in an acute care setting, but not required.
