Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Infant Special Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 - 2 years of Level 2 Nursery experience required License: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse required Certifications: American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card required Must-Have: NRP Certification required; BSN preferred Description: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping are required. Frequent lifting and moving of patients is necessary. Intermittent lifting, moving, or carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs may be required. Frequent use of finger and hand dexterity is necessary. Constant reaching with hands and arms is required. Frequent talking and hearing are essential. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range is necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue is common. Possible exposure to infectious materials and communicable diseases exists. Work may involve moderate noise levels and requires a calm and effective reaction in emergency situations. Position may require variable hours including weekends and holidays based on departmental needs. Experience with CPAP, Hypoglycemic, NAS, and high flow is essential. Level II or Level III NICU experience is required for this role. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practices is necessary to give and evaluate patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions is essential. Ability to communicate clearly is required. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public are important. Analytical skills to assess situations and apply critical thinking are necessary. Work demands include the ability to perform under stressful conditions and deadlines.
