As a key player in our service operations, you’ll perform complex diagnostics, overhauls, and repairs on Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment. If you’re an experienced Caterpillar mechanic or a skilled field service equipment technician , this is your opportunity to advance your career at a leading dealership trusted across Texas. What You’ll Do as a Heavy Equipment Technician: Diagnose and repair Caterpillar diesel construction equipment Use Cat ET and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot systems and components Perform preventative maintenance, part installations, and rebuilds Service hydraulic, electrical, transmission, fuel, and undercarriage systems Operate independently in the shop or in the field using a company-provided service truck Collaborate with mentors and team members for complex diagnostics Requirements: Must own proper tools to perform necessary repairs High school diploma or equivalent required Deep understanding of hydraulics, transmissions, fuel systems, and undercarriage components Experience using diagnostic systems such as Cat ET Prior military or heavy construction mechanic experience (Caterpillar or similar brands) Ability to work independently in shop or field settings Strongly Preferred Experience: Welding and fabrication: MIG, arc welding, oxyacetylene, arc gouging Hands-on experience with hydraulic pumps, valves, and motors Earthmoving equipment service training via dealership, OEM, or technical schools Proficiency with Cat ET or competitor troubleshooting platforms Heavy Equipment Technician levels and compensation are based on experience, certifications, and technical expertise.
