Warehouse Logistics Coordinator
The Warehouse Logistics Coordinator oversees the movement of materials, components, and finished products throughout a manufacturing facility and its distribution operations. This role ensures accurate inventory management, timely and efficient shipment of orders, and smooth coordination between production, warehouse, purchasing, and transportation teams.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, components, and finished products to ensure on-time delivery and efficient material flow.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by using warehouse management systems (WMS) and following established inventory control procedures.
- Schedule and track freight carriers, including less-than-truckload (LTL) and full truckload shipments, to optimize shipping efficiency and cost.
- Collaborate closely with production planning to align material availability with manufacturing schedules and prevent production delays.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies.
- Process shipping documentation such as bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork as needed to support domestic and international shipments.
- Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, and shortages by coordinating with internal teams, carriers, and vendors.
- Maintain compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards in all shipping and material handling activities.
- Coordinate with purchasing on vendor deliveries, lead times, and incoming material schedules to support production requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse layout, processes, and efficiency to enhance overall logistics performance.
- Operate or coordinate the use of forklifts and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner, as needed.
- Collaborate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure accurate loading, unloading, and documentation of all inbound and outbound materials.
Essential Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, or a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience in production, logistics, supply chain, and shipping and receiving activities.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and control.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for reporting, tracking, and data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing inventory, documentation, and schedules.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Experience with inventory management, inventory control, loading, and material handling processes.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies related to shipments, damages, and shortages.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, purchasing, warehouse, and transportation teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification, with experience operating forklifts preferred.
- Experience working in a metal shop or similar industrial environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to transportation and material handling.

Work Environment

The position involves regular standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating or working near forklifts and other material handling equipment. The setting is fast-paced and industrial, with a strong emphasis on safety practices, proper use of equipment, and adherence to operational procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $65000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
