The Jonesboro Advertising & Promotion Commission is seeking a creative, organized, and results-oriented Marketing Specialist / Events Coordinator to support marketing, communications, tourism promotion, and events in Jonesboro.

This position combines creative marketing work with hands-on event coordination. The successful candidate will help develop and coordinate print, digital, and broadcast communications; create promotional materials; assist with social media and website content; coordinate vendors and event logistics; and represent the Jonesboro A&P Commission at community events, trade shows, and other promotional activities.

Job Description: Marketing Specialist/Events Coordinator

Summary: Assists with design, communication, and promotion efforts, website content, news releases, and media relations. Assists with strategies to meet overall goals and promotional events as required. This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Executive Director. May require overnight travel and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

· Work to achieve consistency and coordination for electronic, print, and broadcast communications.

· Coordinate with City of Jonesboro Department Heads (police, fire, streets, sanitation) and other city leadership when city services are required for an event.

· Coordinate with A&P grant recipients to ensure Jonesboro A&P regulations are being followed.

· Assist with content management with outsourced services for social media channels and Tourjonesboro.com.

· Write news releases and publications when needed.

· Assist and/or create and design advertising and promotion for print and digital.

· Assist with videographers, photographers, and outsourced services to deliver superb content.

· Assist with management of image library and usage rights for all photography and videography.

· Assist with budget tracking, invoicing, and vendor coordination when necessary.

· Assist with A&P-related events in the City of Jonesboro such as booking porta-potties, janitorial, trash pick up, etc. when necessary.

· Coordinates and/or assists with setting up barricades, moving tables/chairs, handling signage, and other setups/takedown for events.

· Represents The Jonesboro A&P Commission at local events, trade shows, and community functions as needed.

Physical Demands:

· Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.

· Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 lbs (e.g., event supplies, promotional materials).

· Frequent walking during site visits, tours, and events.

Summary: This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Executive Director. Job may require overnight travel. Work will be required periodically after regular work hours, weekends, and holidays.

Key Performance Indicators & Reports

· Manages KPIs to develop standards and data against which progress will be measured and evaluated.

· Utilizes measurements, reporting, and statistical analysis to determine progress.

Requirements:

· Proficient in Microsoft programs like Word and Excel. Data entry may be required.

· Proficient in Adobe Suite, Canva, Capcut, and chosen creative software.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· Ability to work independently, quickly, and efficiently with minimum supervision.

· Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
