Responsibilities

Provide direct care as assigned, i.e., bathing, showering, oral hygiene, insertion and removal of urinary catheters/bedpans, personal grooming, and all other hygienic needs.

Clean and care for resident’s bed equipment and environment, occupied and unoccupied beds, bedside tables, dresser, resident’s clothing, and personal belongings.

Practice throughout all moments safety rules to prevent accidents.

Assist nurse in maintaining continuous observation and providing assistance to residents.

Perform rounds of care to residents, visiting each resident at least every one to two hours.

Prepare residents for meals, help or feed residents as needed.

Complete all documentation before the end of the shift.

Establish and maintain a relationship with residents, families, visitors, and all levels of staff.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Must have a valid CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) certification for the state of Florida or have passed a certified CNA program and awaiting examination.

Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred, but not limited to.

Well versed with documentation writing.

Document patient progress in the weekly progress note in a timely manner.

Collaborate with all disciplines to provide the best patient-centered treatment and care.

Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence.

Report on time to work, adhere to scheduled hours, and demonstrate professionalism at all times.

Compliance with confidentiality, HIPPA, and Federal Residents’ Rights.
