Description
Performs intermediate human support work educating clients on personal and professional skills, managing workload and production schedules, conducting and teaching quality control, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Store Manager- Practical Cents.
Examples of Duties

  1. Educates clients on behaviors and skills required to acquire maintain employment.
  2. Supervises clients engaged in production.
  3. Manages workload and production schedules in order to meet deadlines; performs and/or teaches quality control.
  4. Consults with other professional staff, identifying strengths and needs on behalf of clients.
  5. Responsible for the delivery of services as identified in clients' Individualized Service Plans, collection of data, and preparation of related documentation.
  6. Coordinates transportation arrangements for clients to and from jobs.
  7. Assists in program and operation improvement solutions.
  8. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
  9. Reviews work performance studies and goals.
  10. Provides general store services; services on customers, stocks shelves, operate a cash register, sorts, and prices merchandise and receiving donations.

Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and moderate experience in mentally and physically disabled personal care and support, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Obtain First Aid certification within 1 year of hire. Valid driver's license. Work schedule will vary; weekend hours at least once per month.

Thorough knowledge of County and department policies and procedures to include safety, emergency and inclement weather policies; ability to prioritize and manage multiple, concurrent projects; attention to detail and ability to effectively organize time and anticipate, plan and successfully respond to changing circumstances; ability to educate clients on behaviors and skills required to maintain employment; ability to coordinate transportation arrangements for clients; ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to operate and use standard office equipment; knowledge and ability to use standard office and position-specific software; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other departments and the general public; requires the patience to work with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and a variety of interfering behaviors. Requires the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and stressful environment focusing on client treatment and habilitation; must be able to monitor up to 20 clients (including whereabouts, quality of production, and behaviors).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and lifting and occasionally requires climbing or balancing; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is considered low for this position.

The County offers health insurance coverage through UMR. The County pays 85% of the premium for both single and family coverage, along with a contribution to the Health Savings Account (HSA).

Dental, Vision, and supplemental insurance is also available, with the employee paying the premium.

The County offers a basic life insurance plan (at the County expense) for regular employees. There are also supplemental plans available for the employee to purchase.

The County provides a retirement account in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) for eligible employees. Employees pay one-half of the required contribution; the County pays the other half.

The County provides a confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to all employees and their family members, at no cost to the employee.
