TITLE: Early Childhood Support Specialist


SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed by the Board of Allied Mental Health and Human Services Professions as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Applied Behavior Analyst.

• Master's degree in a related field preferred

• Massachusetts license from the appropriate state licensing board, if appropriate

• Experience in and/or expertise in early childhood, including programming and staff training.

• Experience and knowledge of providing behavioral interventions and assessments, including expertise in creating and managing a behavioral system, behavioral intervention plans, and functional behavioral assessments
• Strong understanding of ABA principles, positive behavior supports, and data collection systems.

• Ability to work with students having a variety of challenges, and to collaborate with staff working directly with students in the program

• Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with arrival, dismissal, and transitions.
• Respond to behavior/regulation needs.
• Regularly consult with teachers.
• Model for teachers and program assistants.
• Assist staff with the development of visual supports, token systems, schedules, and reinforcement tools to increase student engagement and independence.
• Assist with the implementation of ACE programming, ensuring data-driven decision-making and accurate progress monitoring.

• Provide behavioral assessments, interventions, and teacher consultations for students identified with, or suspected of, having behavioral challenges

• Coordinate the creation and management of behavioral intervention plans and functional behavioral assessments for identified students

• Provide training, professional development, and in-class coaching for the staff in data collection, behavior management, reinforcement systems, de-escalation, and behavior plans.
• Conduct observations and collect data to assess the effectiveness of interventions.
• Participate in IEP meetings as needed to share data and recommendations regarding student progress and behavioral supports.
• Work in coordination with building administrators, teachers, and parents.
• Experience working in early childhood or preschool settings preferred.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:


Ten-month year; Salary to be determined (Unit A contract if certified teacher)
