The Senior Tax Accountant plays a crucial role within a small tax accounting team, providing expert tax preparation and planning services to a diverse client base including individuals, small businesses, and large corporations. This position demands strong proficiency in tax documentation, accounting, payroll tax returns, and bank reconciliation, leveraging tools such as QuickBooks and Drake Tax Software. Responsibilities

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
• Develop strategic tax planning to optimize client tax obligations
• Maintain accurate documentation for tax and accounting records
• Handle bookkeeping and payroll tax returns and deposits
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Utilize QuickBooks and specialized tax software for accounting tasks
• Collaborate with a small team to deliver high-quality client services

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in tax accounting working in public practice
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA certification preferred but not required
• Knowledge of tax compliance and IRS regulations
• Proficiency with Drake Tax Software a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Effective communication skills
