The Machine Shop Supervisor leads a medium-sized team of 6 to 15 employees in a dynamic machining environment encompassing both conventional and CNC machinery. This role focuses on overseeing production schedules, ensuring optimal machining operations, and maintaining equipment to meet quality and efficiency standards. A key aspect of the position is fostering team development and implementing continuous process improvements within a lean manufacturing framework.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a machining team of 6 to 15 employees
• Oversee production scheduling using manual and lean manufacturing methods
• Supervise conventional and CNC machining operations to ensure quality and efficiency
• Maintain and coordinate preventive maintenance of equipment
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills
• Manage inventory to support production needs
• Identify and implement process improvements for operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in machining operations
• Proficiency with CNC machining and programming
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and blueprint reading
• Familiarity with workplace safety standards
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
• Effective problem-solving and communication abilities
• Excellent time management skills
