Job Description People working as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) support the day‑to‑day operations of a Plasma Donation Center, ensuring donor safety, regulatory compliance, and quality of product collection. About the role In this role you will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and communicate unsuitable test results to donors. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician to address medical issues and follow industry regulations and EHS policies. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and execute emergency procedures per SOPs, including physician standing orders and transport to emergency care. Consult the Center Physician or Medical Affairs regarding unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluation with occupational health or EHS guidance. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. What you bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate program and state licensing in nursing. Current licensure or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. State‑required basic IV therapy competency. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
