Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized care for adult patients with complex cardiovascular conditions in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role requires adapting to various units and maintaining high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer medications and treatments, including vasoactive drugs, antiarrhythmics, and anticoagulation therapy.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient conditions continuously through cardiac telemetry, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure assessments.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to acute events such as defibrillation, cardioversion, or other emergent procedures.
  
  
• 
  Document clinical interventions and patient responses accurately in the EPIC electronic medical records system.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Float across units or facilities as needed, providing expert support to diverse patient populations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid SC RN license and current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience in a cardiac care setting.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in adult cardiovascular or stepdown units.
  
  
• 
  Be willing to work 3x12 day shifts, with weekend coverage, and float to different units or facilities.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit excellent critical thinking, swift decision-making, and team collaboration skills.
